I like the Jacksons. I think that Jermaine did a good job standing up for his brother, despite the controversy, such as Mike’s plastic surgery, alleged skin bleaching, molestation of children, and alleged financial difficulties. I am no judge, but when any of the Jackson clan go through some type of legal shit, they all stick together, no matter if the person is guilty of not. Now that’s a family bond!

MJ’s father is a total sicko. I saw a interview once when he was asked if he beat MJ, he said he didn’t beat the kid, he whipped him with a belt and that wasn’t beating the kid because a beating you do with a stick. If MJ has done something wrong, he’ll have to take the concequences of course, but I can’t help feeling sorry for the guy. What a twisted way to have to grow up.

I’m pretty upset over the modern media’s desire to make somthing out of nothing, or to continue to report when they lack new information to warrant any more being said. Sometimes, journalism has to wait for facts and circumstance before it can report. Too many people I think fail to realize that somtimes, the answer just isn’t known. And the responsible reporter will wait like the rest of us

I’ve been thinking of why modern media outlets continue to re-hash and dissect and discuss the tiniest most trivial matters for days, weeks, MONTHS even when nothing new can really be gained from it.

It’s my theory that modern technology has spawned a self-serving need for information. Think about it. A mere 20 years ago, to stay up to date, you read the morning paper, watched the evening news, and you knew what was going on in the world. Now, you have the internet, news web pages, PDA’s and cell phones with built-in news tickers and access to CNN’s web site. This is creating a market, a NEED for news, ANY news, people simply aren’t going to buy these fancy doodads if they can’t hit “refresh” every 3 minutes and get somthing new and exciting to read. So to make sure there’s ALWAYS somthing “breaking” the news has had to expand their reach to talking to an ever-growing string of experts and talking heads and out right loonies and conspiracy theorists just to fill the public’s desire to be on a perpeutal front page sensation
