<description>Interestingly, they're not even always uneducated. A contractor friend of mine says that he has trouble finding Americans, especially white kids, who have the common sense to do work like carpentry and drywall. Kids born in America, speaking English, going to American schools, somehow wind up not knowing how to properly measure something or how to use a power tool without injuring themselves.

My contractor friend says that he goes to a regular pool of workers who are probably illegals and pays them in cash off the books, as do many contractors these days. He hires them because they are skilled workers. Experienced masons, carpenters, brick and tile layers -- they come to America illegally, too.

		<description>"Jobs American's won't do"?

B.S.! We don't want to do backbreaking jobs at slave-labor wages! Give a fair day's pay for long hot hours washing dishes or picking lettuce and watch how many Americans line up!

Along that line, we can only use so many low-skill workers. Doubt that? Go to a day-labor corner and count how many people are hired versus how many are still there at the end of the day.

Mexicans aren't stupid because they're Mexican, it's because they have no education. All they know is how to pick crops and wait tables. That's all that they're good for with that level of knowledge.

And, sorry, but even the mighty (?) U.S. can only pull so many people up before our knees start to buckle from the load.

Oh - and don't even start whining about discrimination. If you think it's so freaking bad, emigrate to another country already! *Nobody* is forcing you to come here. Nobody!
But...if you want in, play by the rules. That's how it works in every other country in the world. If -you- want in to the U.S., follow -our- laws. All of them. If I want into Mexico, -I- follow -your- laws. Turnabout IS fair play!

<description>There is NO SUCH THING as American discrimination against illegal aliens! The U.S. Constitution (civil rights, in particular) applies to U.S. citizens ONLY, not foreign nationals, illegally in this country. Foreign citizens are entitled to certain international human rights (like humane treatment, etc.) but those rights DO NOT include the right to protest in American streets. Any more than I have the right to go to Mexico and make demands. If we don't wake up and realize that we are being INVADED and stop this soon, we will completely lose our sovereignty as a nation!

<description>Illegal is illegal no matter what. Good is good and bad is bad. We have to be responsible for our own responsibilities. Regardless, there are laws and we have to obey them, or we suffer the consequences. And we all suffer the consequences.

When I was younger I use to consider my self a 'very proud' Mexican-American, unfortunately time has taught me other. Born and raised in California, I now realize that I am an American of Mexican descent.

I wait for the Mexican government to rise up and stand tall for our people (Personal responsibility). Yes, our people, because even though I am an American, I will always remember my past and our struggles. I wait for the day that the Mexican government does something good to generate work and a good living for all Mexicans. Where there won't be a need of people risking their lives to come to this great country, but to have a great country of their own. I wait for the Mexican government to say: My people, there is no need to risk your lives crossing the borders, because we need you here, and we don't need the US to support us any more.

If we don't have dreams, we don't have anything to look forward to. I can dream all I want, but I hope that before I die my wait will no longer be in vain. I hope the corruption in Mexico is first to go.

<description>Everyone is missing the real reason for why Americans are against illegal amnesty. It is not racial hatred. That's just a scam meant to create more hatred so that the real reason doesn't come to light.

It boils down to less American jobs, salaries that haven't increased since the Nixon years, decreased work benefits, rising prices (gas, education, healthcare, food and housing). The American middle class is hard-pressed these days to take care of their families. In fact the American middle-class is decreasing in number. More families are now poor.

Actually American workers and Hispanic workers (illegal and legal) have a common enemy. Both Americans and Hispanics are being exploited by Big Business.

Illegals come to the US and are forced to take up jobs that don't pay a fair wage or have any benefits. They can't speak up and demand justice because they are here illegally. Americans are losing their jobs to illegals who uncut them wage-wise. Meat packers earned $19.00 an hour in the 1980s. Now meat packers get $9.00 an hour. Americans are forced to look for other jobs in order to maintain their standard of living.

Do Americans have a right to maintain their standard of living. Yes they do. Why? Because all of their ancestors came here with nothing and worked at horrible jobs in order to see that the next generation would be better off. My father was a day laborer; my mother was a maid. They were low-skilled workers who worked long and hard so that our family could get an education and better jobs. They paid their dues...just like the ancestors of all Americans.

I've heard many people state..."would Americans work in 100 degree temperatures for minimum wage?" Well, I'm old. I remember the time when Americans (all racial &#038; ethnic groups) did this. Kids in my neighborhood would earn money cutting grass and shoveling snow. Now, they have been replaced by illegals. Kids and adults used to do construction work during our HOT summer months...willingly because years ago because they were "paid construction wages (lot higher than minimum wage at that time). High School students worked in the grocery stores--now replaced by illegals who work without benefits.

I don't know if anyone else sees the pattern here. But, Business is replacing Americans (either with illegals or by outsourcing jobs to India and China) and putting downward pressure on their salaries &#038; benefits.

BUT BUSINESS IS DUMPING THE COSTS FOR ALL THE ILLEGALS on to the American worker. Although some illegals pay taxes, the costs for all their social services far outweighs anything they put into the system. Current estimates indicate that each US citizen pays $11,000 for each illegal in this country. And, as I wrote...American families are being squeezed by Business and rising costs.

Now, the so-called legislators in Washington are hyping "comprehensive immigration bills." Politicians in Washington don't care one bit about Hispanics or Americans. These bills have been created in order to bring in millions of more low-skilled workers from Latin America.

Why? Is there a labor shortage in the US. Answer: NO. What will happen if the Senate, especially the Democrats have their way. Hispanic Americans will suffer the most. We will be forced to compete in the job market with waves of new immigrants. The new immigrants will be exploited at first. When they realize this fact, they will demand a fair wage &#038; benefits. But, the next wave of newbies will come in and the oldies will be fired--or forced to accept lower wages.

If Business has its way--the US will ultimately become a third world nation with two classes...the rich and the poor.

Yes, we need to revise immigration. We are a nation of immigrants. But, immigration must depend upon ACTUAL need. Importing more people than there are jobs for them--only makes the rich richer.

So, beware of the hypocrites in Washington. They get their campaign monies from Business. Their first and only loyalty is to Business. They are not helping Hispanics...they are helping themselves.

<description>Undocs have always been part of the economic equation in the US.

The Antis are only trying to provoke hatred towards Mexicans and Indigenous Americans.

The borders will remain as porous as the government and big business want them to be.

<description>As a daughter whose parents had the moral decency and integrity to immigrate here LEGALLY over 50 years ago from Ecuador and who are proud, law-abiding citizens who are grateful for the opportunties that are available to all immigrants who respect the laws, rules, customs and norms of this country, I am appalled at the illegal aliens who brazenly, openly, flaunt their contempt for our laws and then have the audacity to make unjustified demands upon our nation and its citizens. They don't speak for me.
